Our Developer Marketing Summit in San Francisco saw attendees from some of the biggest companies in the world (from developer marketing professionals to developer relations experts) – case in point, Katie Miller, the Director of Developer Marketing at Slack.
As we aim to improve our events, we always ask for feedback, whether the event is still ongoing or finished. So, here’s what Katie had to say when we asked her about the event.
How did you find the Developer Marketing Summit?
“It’s been so energizing. The word that I kept using over and over was ‘excited’. And I know it's a little cliché, but it's really true.
“To be back in person at an event, to be with my peers and industry leaders with the community – I don't think I realized how much I missed it!”
What are your key takeaways from the event?
“To me, there was no one aha moment, it was really seeing the full arc of content from the frameworks for developer marketing to thinking about sales, thinking about the funnel, thinking about community – it was really that opportunity to visit end-to-end the full process of effective developer marketing.”
What did you like most about the event?
“What was really cool is that it wasn't just a Developer Marketing Summit, but it was part of this whole Alliance event.
“And we had our home and our space where we could nerd out over developer marketing, and then come together with industry marketing professionals, across product, across customer support, across all of the other spaces.
“And, as someone who I consider a retired or recovering event professional, I just found the whole experience really interesting and fascinating.”
If you had to choose one word to describe the event, what would it be?
There are plenty more events to come, as our goal is to gather experts in one place to talk about personas, developer communities, the importance of developer marketing, go-to-market strategies, and so much more.
